Children are the future of nation. Taking this into consideration, in the late eighties the organization decided to work further by nurturing the child artists to give a bright future to the theatre movement of Orissa. It is decided to hold Children's Drama Festival from the year 1988. The plays staged in Children's Drama Festival are Parivartan, Sangha Hebuni Na, Patent Medicine, Kuhuka Dipa, Bihanga Biplab, Saja Phoolara Basana, Matru Mukti, Dhala Pathar, Rahana Tike, Paribesara Artanada, Amruta Santana, Purbasha, Maluni Ai, Nisabda Rakta Tirth, Narka Darshan, Kandhei Lo to Bahaghar Kebe, Relagadi, Moti Manika, Dhain Asa Ho Dhain Asa, Kalia, Janhamamu, Aisa Alokaa, Kuni Pade Tora Alata Gara, Aswamedha Yajna, Ganesh, Na emitika Bhool Karibuni, Ame Ki Bhagyaba Pilare, Se kintu Taha Nuben, Mukha, Ashirbad, Nua Sakalara Surya, I am Sorry, Ame Badalibu, Upendra Bhanja, Sindoor, Achinha Aparadha, Tyaga, Kiupidas, Kathatie Suna, Gotie Bagicha Charoti Phoola, Baraputra, Janani Janam Bhuin, Aei Amar Gaan, Nua Sakala etc.
Since its inception, the groups have been organizing seminars on each of its foundation day at regular intervals so as to assess the present status of theatre in Orissa. Elite personalities from different fields of theatre use to join in the seminars and give valuable opinions on the topics specified for the purpose. Also, some special seminars have been organized at that time of need. With the help of national Sangeet Natak Akademi and Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India, the organization has conducted theatre workshops.. The student of workshop had produced plays at the end of workshops. Satabdira Kalakar, for the 1st time startedorganizing National Multilingual Drama festival to develop cultural interaction in the year 98-99.Gradually financial and moral supports was extended by Deptt. Of cultureOrissa, Sangeet Natak Akademi,New-Delhi,Eastern Zonal cultural centre Kolkata for such activity. State Sangeet Natak Akademi started organizing festivals. Other theatre organization started organizing state level theatres festivals. District Head Quarters level organization also became inspired to organize theatre festivals. Now February & March two months are being considered as a festival season. ”
Satabdira Kalakar also started an acting school to bring young blood to the main stream. Students have been trained up in basic theory of acting. The students after successfully passing the test conducted have been awarded certificates of merit in an eventful night where a drama was staged only with the participation of trained students. By now five batches of students have successfully completed their training.
From the year 1998, the organization is organizin National Multilingual Drama Festival, the first of it's kind on help from Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre, Kolkata, National Sangeet Natak Akademi,New Delhi and Department of Culture, Government of Orissa with a noble intention to develop fraternity, cultural interaction besides providing opportunity to the esteemed audience to witness the successful plays of eminent theatre celebrities of the country. ”
